William Buckley and wife Nancy Kelly are also my ancestors. I descend from their daughter Frances (Fannie) Buckley who married James Monroe Long. Fannie and James lived in McCaskill, Hempstead County, Arkansas until their death in the 1920's. According to the 1900 Arkansas Census for Pike County, Arkansas, Nancy indicated that she and William had 13 children but only 9 lived to adulthood. My research shows that those children were:
1) Elizabeth Evaline Buckley m. Moses Fugate Westerman
2) Frances E. (Fannie) Buckley m. James Monroe Long
3) Patrick Henry Buckley m. Alice Serena Barclay
4) Mary Permelia Buckley m. William Locke Self
5) Joel Embrey Buckley m. 1) Martha Whittington (half sister to Alice Serena Barclay) 2) Lydia Charlottia Oliver
6) Willie Buckley m. William Wagner
7) Alfred Buckley m. Alma Perry or Percy
8) Elmer Johnson Buckley m. Etta L. Self
9) Martha J. Buckley m. unknown
10) Margaret Buckley died young
11) John Buckley died in infancy
William M. Buckley died on March 4, 1900 in Pike County according to the Civil War Pension Application his widow Nancy filed in 1911. I am still looking for the place in Tennessee where William and Nancy came from before they landed in Arkansas in the 1850's. Please contact me and let's share info. Charlotte at [email protected].
