Buccleuch in Scotland

Just returned from Scotland w/my mother and we found references to the Duke and Duchess of Buccleuch in many places in Edinburgh, etc. We visited some of the family's castles/country homes (many obtained through marriage with other landed gentry) and was amazed, in particular, at the art collection at Drumranlig (between Edinburgh and Glasgow) which contained (within only one small room) a da Vinci flanked by two (rare) Jos van Cleves, a large Rembrandt...in other rooms were Holbeins, van Eycks, etc. The name is pronounced Buh CLEW' with heavy emphasis on second syllable. I urge everyone who can to visit Scotland--the Buccleuch family has one of the most significant art collections in the UK. One quickly adapts to driving on the "wrong" side of the road as the castles/historic sites beckon...my 2nd trip. Will provide any travel info if you e-mail me at jrr@tewlaw.com. The Duke and Duchess of Buccleuch are seen in the society pages--there are, after all, only 25 Dukes but many, many other royal appelations/titles.
