Buck Buckles

The graveside service for J.A. "Buck" Buckles will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday in Deer Creek Cemetery in Salma.
Mr. Buckles, 97, of Medford, died Tuesday (Dec. 30, 1997) at the Medford Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center.

Memorial contributions may be made to ACCESS/Community Action Agency, 3630 Aviation Way, Medford, OR 97504.

He was born Aug. 29, 1900, in Tillamook, where he attended school.

He moved to Selma in 1920, working as a logger, farmer and a school bus driver for Josephine County and Illinois Valley schools.

On Sept. 10, 1927, in Grants Pass, he married Mary Lima, who died Oct. 23, 1996. They moved to Medford in 1991.

He was a member of Deer Creek Grange and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening.

Survivors include three daughters, Norma Bolinger, Medford, Arlene Rians, Medford, and Dolores Silacci, Turlock, Calif.; two sons, Clyde, Medford, and Edward Santos, Puyallup, Wash.; a sister, Hattie Barton, Bremmerton, Wash.; a brother, Burl Kennedy, Vernonia; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. A granddaughter preceded him in death.

Arrangements: Hull & Hull Funeral Directors, Grants Pass.
