I don't know if this info will help. I do have an ancestor who was born a Buckland. Abigail Buckland married Stephen Herriman IV. Abigail d. early 1850s in Clark Co., OH. Stephen IV moved to Iroquois Co., IL and remarried. If you think there might be a connection, let me know. Thanks!
