The book by Timothy L. Buckland entitled The Buckland Family of West Virginia, Virginia and Maryland shows Daniel as being the son of John Buckland, the progenitor of the Buckland clan. While no marriage record for John was found, it does set forth in the book ten children, of which Daniel is one.
