William H. Buckholts was one of my 3g grandfathers. The info you have matches what I have (Did you notice the error on the wedding date? There is no Sept. 31!) I have that Jacob was the father of William H. Buckholts. Betsy Brashears was 1/4 Choctaw Indian. They had 11 or more children. I had seen his name as Buckles too. He also may have fought in the War of 1812. One of my 2g grandfathers was apparently listed in his will as guardian of minor children. His name was Charles H. Moran and he married Elizabeth Buckholts (born 11/1821) in Sumter Co. AL on May 22, 1838. Charles and Elizabeth Moran had 11 children. They removed to Fayette Co. TX sometime after 1840 and then to Lavaca Co. TX sometime after 1860. Elizabeth Buckholts Moran eventually enrolled herself and nine of her living children as Choctaw Indians in 1879 in the Blue District of Choctaw Nation Indian Territory (now Oklahoma). I hope this helps.
Pat Moran
