On 5 January 1807 Jacob Bucholts and his wife Mary, both signing by mark, conveyed to Andrew Johnson, attorney at law, all interest of Mary in the estate of her deceased father John Smith, Sr. The deed is recorded in Volume D, Pages 61 & 62, Marion County, South Carolina Deed Records.
Any ideas as to how this Jacob Bucholts fits into the family, and any children of Jacob and Mary? When did Jacob die, and if Mary survived him, did she remarry?
I am researching the John Smith family and would like to tie down his grandchildren if possible. His will clearly names his children, among them Mary Buckells (Bucholts) and this deed makes the connection very well.
