Jacobus was the son of Adolberty (1677-1730) & Gertrude (1680-1740) Buckholts. Jacobus had three sons--Abraham (1729-1812), Peter (1728-1780), and Jacob, Sr. (1730-1800). Abraham married Elizabeth Woodward (1730-1810). The Jacob Buckholts who married Sarah Smith was reported to be Jacob Sr.'s son.
