My Grandmother has obvious Native American features and has always said that her mother, Bessie Beatrice Buckelew was Cherokee. I have no proof of this, Bessie died before I was born and Grandma has never researched the Buckelew side of the family. Bessie was born in Mississippi and was married in Selma, AL. Most of my relatives ended up in Mobile County, AL.
