Richard Buckelew was my 5th great grandfather. I have a copy of the land lease from Lord Fairfax to Richard for 200 acres of land in Loudoun County, Virginia. On the lease two of his sons are listed, Frederick and John. Frederick was my 4th great grandfather and was a Patriot in the Revolutionary War from Georgia. John, his brother was also in the Revolutionary War, and I have a copy of his pension request. Richard evidentally died while serving in the Militia in South Carolina for the British because they paid to have him buried. His son Richard, Jr. received his pay for service. Richard Buckelew,Jr. was also in the British Militia from Edgefield, SC.(Edgefield was also known as the 96th District.)Richard Buckelew, Jr. later moved to Lancaster County, South Carolina. Frederick Buckelew died sometime after 1830 because he is listed on the 1830 Census for Twiggs County, Georgia.
