Wilhelm/Frederich Buchholtz Charlotte Sophie Iden Sophienkirche Berlin 1800's
Recently within the pervious week I have found that Gottlieb Wilhelm Buchholz who was born July 1812 and married to Elizabeth Dorothea Behrens ca. 1835. They had a son Gottlieb August Buchholz in July 1836 in Preussen. They supposedly left Germany in 1846 per the Brandenburg Emigration per ancesry.com BUT I finally found them landing in New York in June 1848 and then they went to Dodge County, Wisconsin.
Per the 1857 Census of Minnesota I found Gottlieb's household and therein was his 72 year old father Wilhelm Buchholtz. Gottlieb's brother in law Gottfried Behrens Berendt or Burnt were was living beside Gottlieb's family. Gottfried Behrendts and his wife & Daughter were on the same ship Reimer that came from Hamburg Germany to NY on July 21, 1846 with Gottlieb's father, mother Charlotte Sophie Louise nee: Iden (or Ide) and a brother Carl Buchholtz.
I am seeking information about Wilhelm Buchholtz Buchholz and his wife Charlotte Sophie Louise Iden who were baptizing their children in the Sophienkirche (Sophien Church) located in Berlin, Germany. They had a son Frederich Wilhelm Buchholtz in 1827 per the LDS website, and a daughter Charlotte Louise Buchholtz in 1829. Both christened in the Sophienkirche.
My ancestor Wilhelm Heinrich Buchholz was born January 19, 1826 and either he is a sibling to Gottlieb Buchholz etc or a nephew to Gottlieb. Gottlieb's children and Wilhelm Heinrich Buchholz's children in Minnesota did associate with each other quite often.
Can ANYONE tell me more about this Wilhelm Frederich or Frederich Wilhelm Buchholtz and his wife Charlotte Sophie Louise Iden or Ide. I am so desepate to find out more about this family ancestry.
Did they migrate to Sophien to have their children baptised having come from some outlaying community near Berlin? Gottlieb says his place of origin was Tamsel, Landsberg Kreis, Preussen.
I think that Wilhelm Heinrich Buchholz came to NY from Hamburg aboard the ship (Sir) Isaac Newton in May 1845 yet he claimed as an elder man, that he immigrated in 1844.
