This person immigrated from Switzerland in 1829 and arrived Philadelphia. Johann, age 30, arrived w wife Regulaire, age 27, and daughter Magdalena age 3. I found a photostat of Johann's passport among a deceased uncle's papers but I have no idea of Bucher connection to my uncle. Passport was half in (fractur) German hence name on German half was Johann Bucher, other half was in French and the name on that side was Jean Bercher.
I'm guessing Johann was an ancestor that my uncle was researching but he died before making the connection to contemporary relatives. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
