am a descendant of Catherine Booher who married John Alexander Goff. Catherine was born abt. 1799 in Harrison County, WV. She married John A. Goff in Lewis County, WV.;
Lewis Co WV Marriage Record 1, 1817-1833, Page 1-John A Goff & Catherine Booher d/o Judith Begle(?) Aug 26, 1817 by William Hacker minister of the gospel.
I believe this Judith Begle(?) is the same Judith Booherm that married Isaac Beasley December 1814 in Harrison County, WV..
I am trying to connect her to the family of Henry Bucher/Booher of Harrison County. Henry Bucher appeared there in 1785 living near Simpson Creek, Harrison County. I believe Henry Bucher may have come from Bucks County, Pennsylvania. Around the same time, Hannah Bucher who was born June 29, 1760 in Bucks County to an older Henry Bucher and wife Hannah married Joseph Bigler and moved to the same area in Harrison County.
The 1810 Harrison County Census is hard to read but I found a couple of entries for this family;
