Bucher Family Genealogy Forum

We have been using Y-DNA testing with good success to reveal which Bucher lines are related. We presently have 17 males in the test, and any male with surname Bucher (or any spelling variation) is welcome to join. Details are at http://www.siteservers.net/family/bucherdna.htm. Of our 17 males, 11 tests have come back from the University of AZ lab (through www.FamilyTreeDNA.com) and 64% of males matched another male in our group. In one match, a Bucher from MD matched a Beougher from OH, and joining their trees proved both are related to the Bucher family found in the 1780's in Fredericksbug, Lebanon County, PA. In another match group, there are 5 males: two Bichers from PA, a Beecher from IN, a Beacher from GA, and a Beacher from PA, all related in some way to: Johannes Bucher b.1759 and Engel Bucher d.1788 in Lancster County, PA; Henry Bicher b.1828; Issac Bicher b.1827 and buried in Muddy Creek Cemetery in Lancaster County, PA. We are working to see how their trees join, now that the DNA proves they are a common family. Our website has over 2000+ early Bucher ancestors, as many lines as possible covering the 1700 to 1900 era. Explore the resources at http://www.SiteServers.net/family/BucherResearch.htm including a listing of all Bucher immigrations in the 1700's, Census indexes of all Bucher related surnames for 1790 to 1850 in PA, Bucher Deed Indexes, and lots more.
