I too are looking for Bucher from PA. Berks County is where 2 of the children from William Hoffman Bucher DR. and Amelia Frances Hanes was born. Amelia was from Va and William from PA. They had 6 Children and only the first 2 were born in PA. The rest in Virginia. As for name spellings, I can tell you that people spelled things the way they heared them. Most of the time they were asked for their name, and someone else was writing court documents. I have also seen where a family feud has caused a change is spelling. Most common also is lack of education. I am going to place what information I have and see it it matches any of yours.
