Pamela Sue Buchanan, 52, Marion, VA, passed away Thursday,
June 4, 2009, at Johnson City Medical Center in Johnson
City, Washington Co, TN.
She was Head Start Assistant Director at Mountain
Community Action Program, Marion. After her graduation
from Rich Valley High School in 1975, she graduated from
East Tennessee State University, where she spent some of
her happiest years.
She loved her job, co-workers, friends, and the children
she worked with.
She is survived by her parents, James Eugene 'Gene'
Buchanan Sr. and Maxine Wilson Buchanan, of Rich Valley,
VA; one sister, Rita Taylor and husband Michael, Chilhowie,
VA; two brothers, Jim Buchanan and wife Dawn and Allen
Buchanan and wife Becky; two nephews, Eric and Jeb; four
nieces, Kasey, Chaypin, Ali and Chloe, all of whom she
loved very much, all of Rich Valley, VA; two aunts and
uncles, Jean and Bob Gray, Richmond, VA, and Fonnie and
Jim Holmes, Roanoke, VA; cousins, Jamie and Josh; and
special friends, Hazel Wyatt and Betty Barker, Marion, VA.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.,
Saturday, June 6, 2009, in the D. R. Henderson Funeral
Home in Saltville, VA.
Donations, in lieu of flowers, may be made to the Mountain
Community Action Program Inc., P.O. Box 1008, Marion, VA
24354, in memory of Pam.
