According to WW1 draft registration, William Herbert Buchanan was born in Coleman County, Texas, March 23, 1894. Draft card dated, June 5th 1917. In addition, he was working for the Galveston, Harrisburg & San Antonio Railroad as a fireman. He had Blue eyes, blonde hair, medium height and build.
It was his wife, Helen Evelyn Aiken, who died in Kerr County, Texas in 1969. She was born January 11, 1897, in New Mexico. In 1930, they were living in Sanderson, Terrell County, Texas.
Her father was William Benjiman Aiken, b. 1869, SC or NC, who was a railroad conductor. As he was always on the road, she was helped to be raised by Henry Biggers in El Paso.
