This James Hervey BUCHANAN is !!not!!,let me repeat NOT,the s/o Samuel Carpenter BUCHANAN as an earlier post by a 'Jim Buchanan' noted. He did go to seminary in Lancaster,PA & did marr.Mary Salome CARPENTER,dau/o Samuel CARPENTER,in 1846 Lancaster,OH. He is the son of Andrew BUCHANAN & Phoebe PADEN,originally of York County,PA.- aft their marr.they moved to Pleasant Township,Fairfield County,OH- there they had a family of 8 sons. This is well documented in church records,wills,etc.
I have had the opportunity to read 'The Buchanans of Ohio',by Jim Buchanan. It is very helpful but I found it to have alot of type-o's,so . . .
This is hoping that this post will be very helpful to any serious researcher.
