My mother's maiden name was Bua. Her father is Albert John Bua married to Mary Prestigiacomo (now deceased). His parents were Theresa and Samuel Bua. Besides my grandfather who is 82 years old (maybe 83), they had several other children all boys who are still living: Frank (had a twin brother who died at birth) married to Theresa and living in New York, William married to Mary (now deceased) and living in New York, and Anthony married to Marjorie, living in Florida. My grandfather (Al) moved to Florida in the early/mid 80's after remarrying. I don't have too much information except what urban legends I know of the name from my mother. Apparently there was actually an Island of Bua off the coast of Italy. How true this is, I don't know. I am interested to know of any progress you make in your research. I have just started my own research on the family. It is not a very common name as far as I know.
