Hi Georgia,

There is a small group of us working on the BRYANT family of Southampton. Below is what I have on what I believe is your same Charles (I didn't have that Temperance was a BEAL). I haven't been able to connect Charles into the rest of the BRYANT family. Let me know what you think and I would certainly be interested in exchanging information further.

My family (the most secure information) goes from Bailey BRYANT (b. abt 1780 d. Oct 1842) m. to Phereby BEAL, to his son Jacob B. BRYANT (b. ca 1800 d.3 Apr 1857) m. to Temperance OWENS. Then to GG Grandfather Eley BRYANT (b. ca. 1829 d. aft 1887) m. to Margaret COBB.

1. Charles BRYANT.

Charles married Temperance ?.

They had one child:
2 i. James D. (1805-1886)

Second Generation

2. Captain James D. BRYANT. Born on 18 Jan 1805 in Southampton County, Virginia. James D. died in Southampton County, Virginia on 19 Mar 1886; he was 81. Buried in Section FS1-35 Poplar Spring Cemetery near Ravine. Occupation: Farmer.

On 17 Sep 1838 when James D. was 33, he first married Eliza S., in Southampton County, Virginia.

They had the following children:
3 i. Silvas Lewis Jordon
4 ii. Amilisk D.
5 iii. Albert
6 iv. James F. (1841-)
7 v. Rozal E. (1845-)
8 vi. N. Bynum (1857-1925)

On 28 Jun 1860 when James D. was 55, he second married Mary Louise NUTT, daughter of Fauntleroy NUTT & Mary ?. Born on 26 Jan 1843. Mary Louise died on 19 Feb 1913; she was 70.

Third Generation

3. Silvas Lewis Jordon BRYANT.

4. Amilisk D. BRYANT.

5. Albert BRYANT.

6. James F. BRYANT. Born in 1841. Occupation: Student in 1860.

7. Rozal E. BRYANT. Born in 1845.

8. N. Bynum BRYANT. Born on 6 Mar 1857. N. Bynum died in Southampton County, Virginia on 6 Jan 1925; he was 67. Buried in Poplar Springs Cemetery, Southampton County, Virginia.

N. Bynum married Antoinette Mary. Born in 1866. Antoinette Mary died in 1937; she was 71.
