Dana

Thanks for contacting me. Too bad the male line in your family does not have anyone to test. I have a matching segment with another person who took the 23andme (autosomal) test. My Bryant, William, is from Orange County. His daughter married Philip Bush. The other person who tested is from the David Bryant line of Roanoke Co. The Jacquest Briand line is for the moment the best candidate to explain our common link, but until some male descendant in one of our branches takes the y-chromosome test, we will not know for sure. Automsomal DNA tests can be helpful, but sometimes the links are too distant to be sure where the common connection comes from. But if you have not done the test, I still recommend it. The more people who do it and share the results, the more likely we are to get answers to our questions.
