I am doing research on my mothers (Nancy Carol Bryant) lineage and have come upon the name Benjamin Franklin Bryant. The following is from an affadavit given by Susan B.Bryant (Blankenship) after her father's death to the N.P. of Milam County Tx. on April 5th 1911.

Major Benjamin F. Bryant (b. 3-15-1800 in Wilkes County, Ga. d. 3-25-1857) married Roxanna Price (b. 9-10-1834 d. 11-10-1874)

They had six legitimate children:
Jesse Bryant (b. 9-20-1820 d. 1906)
Mary Francis m. A.L. Murray, after Murray's death. Married M.G. (Martin Greenberry) Raney. She died 8-11-1882.
Barney Bryant, a boy, who died in Cal. in the year 1903.
Jane, who married Daniel McKay. Mrs. McKay (b, 1831 died 12-23-1896.
Susan B. b. 1839 d. 1915 married P.M. Blankenship
Louisa, who married Thomas Early, who died as a Confederate prisoner in Chicago, during the late war: she afterwards married Allen Myers. Louisa (b. 1842 d. 1907)

Major Benjamin F. Bryant also had 5 illegitimate children:

Lafayette Bryant m. Elizabeth Sparks and died in the Civil War about 1863. He had 4 children: Martha, Jesse, John, and Lafayette.

Eliza m. H.H. Blankenship and died 1903 in Comanche Co. Texas.

Amanda, who m. Joe R. Bryant in 1850 and then Jacob Petterley in 1863. She was b. 1835 and d. 1934

Sam b 1842 and d. 1937

Rebecca m Chas. Peters. She d. in 1866 or 1867. She had two children:
Susan Peters
Sam Peters

Maj. Benjamin F. Bryant is considered a Texas hero and legend and is buried next to Sam Houston in the State cemetary in Austin.

Any help on finding his parents or siblings would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
