I am doing research on my mothers (Nancy Carol Bryant) lineage and have come upon the name Benjamin Franklin Bryant. The following is from an affadavit given by Susan B.Bryant (Blankenship) after her father's death to the N.P. of Milam County Tx. on April 5th 1911. Major Benjamin F. Bryant (b. 3-15-1800 in Wilkes County, Ga. d. 3-25-1857) married Roxanna Price (b. 9-10-1834 d. 11-10-1874) They had six legitimate children: Major Benjamin F. Bryant also had 5 illegitimate children: Lafayette Bryant m. Elizabeth Sparks and died in the Civil War about 1863. He had 4 children: Martha, Jesse, John, and Lafayette. Eliza m. H.H. Blankenship and died 1903 in Comanche Co. Texas. Amanda, who m. Joe R. Bryant in 1850 and then Jacob Petterley in 1863. She was b. 1835 and d. 1934 Sam b 1842 and d. 1937 Rebecca m Chas. Peters. She d. in 1866 or 1867. She had two children: Maj. Benjamin F. Bryant is considered a Texas hero and legend and is buried next to Sam Houston in the State cemetary in Austin. Any help on finding his parents or siblings would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
