Peggy, I have been studying the census for James Bryant who is in Jakcson in 1850 and Putnam in 1860. I am not sure if he is related to me or not. I think my ancestor is James Bryant age 15 in 1860 Putnam living with Ridley Draper. Our family story says James father died in 1846/8 in the Mex/Amer war, and his mother's name is unknown.
We do know he married Eliza J. Robinson in 1864 in Pulaski Co, KY. James was born in Whitley but our story says James' grandfather from TN, Sequachie Valley area. Eliza J. Robinson is in Putnam in 1860 with her father. James Bryant (James Morgan Bryant) served in the war in TN, Nat. Guard and was mustered out in TN abt. 1863, injured. Would love to compare information. Jackie
