Joseph Bryan/Bryant Jr. - Overload!
Okay--I'm thoroughly confused when it comes to the info found on GenForum and elsewhere concerning various Joseph Bryan/Bryant Jr. info.
1.I find info on Joseph Bryan m Esther Hampton>son Joseph Bryan Jr.On WikiTree I find this chart concerning Joseph Bryan and Esther Hamptonhttp://www.wikitree.com/genealogy/Bryan-Descendants-98http://www.wikitree.com/genealogy/Bryan-Descendants-98Now how could Joseph Bryan m Elizabeth Alexander, have died in KY when this info for the administration ofthe will of Joseph Bryan m Esther Hampton states:
http://genforum.genealogy.com/cgi-bin/pageload.cgi?ezekiel::bryan::6900.htmlhttp://genforum.genealogy.com/cgi-bin/pageload.cgi?ezekiel::bryan::6900.htmlThat Joseph Bryan s/o Joseph Bryan and Esther Hampton was living in MO by 13 Jan 1846?
2.On the 1820 Fayette Co KY census I found the following:Joseph Bryant pg 87 (this must be Joseph Sr. and Esther Hampton Bryan/Bryant); James Bryant pg 87 (this must be James Bryan/Bryant m Mary Polly Coppage); and Enoch Bryant pg 86 (this must be Enoch Bryant that settled Joseph Bryant Sr.'s estate); David Bryant pg 89 (one of Joseph Sr.'s sons); George Bryant pg 87 (one of Joseph Sr.'s sons). But who are these Bryan/Bryants?Daniel Bryan pg 100; Clifton Bryant pg 66; John Bryant pg 60; Jesse Bryant pg 89; William Bryant pg 95 (is this a son of Joseph Sr.?did William die before Joseph Sr. ?); Richard Bryant pg 85.
3.I find info on Joseph Bryan Sr. m Alice Linville>son Joseph Bryan Jr.On RootsWeb I find the following concerning this family:http://archiver.rootsweb.ancestry.com/th/read/MOMONROE/2010-08/1282173606http://archiver.rootsweb.ancestry.com/th/read/MOMONROE/2010-08/1282173606
4.Now I move to the 1840 Marion Twp, Monroe Co MO census and find a listing for Joseph Bryan: 1m u5; 3m 20-30; 1m 30-40; 1m 70-80 -- 1f 30-40.All the info I find about Joseph Bryan Jr, m Susan Calloway, says that he was b c1751.If the Joseph Bryan on the Monroe Co MO 1840 census was the oldest male listed in the household, the birth date of c1751 does not fit; if the listing for the younger male (30-40) is Joseph Bryan, his birth date does not fit Joseph Jr. m Susan Calloway either.According to the above RootsWeb posting, the Joseph Bryan in Monroe Co MO died by 1844 and his children are listed in court records as: Samuel, Alice, Sarah, Mary, Susana and Minerva Bryan (this doesn't fit the 1840 census records for Joseph Bryan either). Are the 3m 20-30 listed in Joseph Bryan's 1840 Monroe Co MO household, nephews?
5.I'm looking for info on Henry Bryan/Bryant m Eveline Stephens 1845 Monroe Co MO, and Richard Bryan/Bryant m Elizabeth Johnson/Johnston 1837 Monroe Co MO.Henry and Richard Bryan/Bryant served in the 9th Missouri Sharpshooters, from Monroe Co MO, during the Civil War.In 1850 Henry Bryant and Eveline Stephens lived in Marion Twp, Monroe Co MO--did Henry Bryant buy Joseph Bryan's farm in Marion Twp, Monroe Co MO?In 1850 Richard Bryant and Elizabeth Johnson/Jonhston lived in Marion Co MO.
Can anyone help me with this confusion?
