I did have offline contact with Dorthy Mack and have found she is a nice person but delusional in respect to her new found lineage.I know I come across as a bit of a "jerk" and "bully for the truth" but I am tired of the misleading trash being put out by many researchers. If I find simple flaws in a lineage what faith is there that any of it is true.Of course, I have not heard from her and I tend to run people off because I demand records. My last comment to her:
Dorthy,
1.Randolph County was formed from Guilford County in 1779.
2.The Deep River Raid occurred in Randolph County (not Rowan County) in March 1782.Capt John Bryan killed by Fanning had a plantation in the area of New Market, Randolph County and was killed there and not in Rowan County as stated by whitesnet.Fanning went along the west side of the Deep River and had his vengeful raid. This is historical fact and not someone’s flawed narrative.http://gaz.jrshelby.com/balfoursplantation.htmhttp://gaz.jrshelby.com/balfoursplantation.htm
3.You provide no provenance of letters of administration for the estate of your John Bryan m. Elizabeth Frances Battle in Randolph County.
4.You provide no provenance of land records of your John Bryan m. Elizabeth Frances Battle in Randolph County.
5.You have a story with the error that Capt John Bryan was killed by Fanning in Rowan County (it was Randolph County). This isn’t research. This is a cut and paste of someone’s narrative that had an error in it.
6.With your John Bryan you have an opinion without provenance which means it is flawed.
7.With my John Bryan of Randolph County I have records of provenance.
Unless you can find provenance you are going to lose this argument. With due respect, I will not be shy in pointing this out.Whereas, if you can provide proof that will be taken into consideration.
