Peter Bryan??

Nat, I was a little too quick with my last response.Actually it is very interesting that this Peter Bryan was in the Linville Creek area.It is generally understood that Joseph Bryan, Morgan Bryan Sr's eldest son, married Aylee (Alice) Linville as probably his second wife. His first probably being Hester Simpson.Well, Linville Creek had to be named after the Linville family I suppose and probably the family that Joseph married into.
So there is a likely connection to this area for Morgan Bryan and Squire Boone, Daniel's father. However, there doesn't seem to be any records to tie Morgan Bryan with Cornelius Bryan, Peter's grandfather and earliest known in his line in America.I saw the lineage you gave and it appeared it could a little short.I have to go back two more generations to get to my descendant Samuel Bryan (b. 1756) whereas you have only gone back four to a Peter Bryan that married Dorothy Showalter.I think you might need to go back at least another two or three generations to get to Peter Bryan who married Betty Hubbard or one of his siblings. It was fascinating to see the name of the present day librarian in the area of Linville Creek as Grace Showalter. There has to be something for you here.
Now I am a proponent of the belief based upon one account of the Bryan/Strode origin that the Morgan Bryan that married Martha Strode was not born in Denmark in 1671.Perhaps his father was but that has yet to be proven. However the account tells of the Bryan children and Strode orphans growing up and playing together. So I believe Morgan Bryan was born a little earlier than Martha Strode (b 1696), somewhere around 1695 probably. They grew up together knowing each other and eventually wed.I also believe he probably had other siblings but who were they and where are their records? This could be the missing link that ties Morgan to other contemporaries like Cornelius Bryan of Rockingham Co, VA.
I hope this helps a little more.
