You mentioned,
"My husband remarked the he couldn't understand why Peter Bryan left such a beautiful place to come to the largely unsettled "territory south of the Ohio River" in the late 1780's."

And,

"Apparently not all the Bryans went south to the Yadkin in Rowan County, NC at the time of Morgan Bryan's removal, since records of a Peter Bryan still living in the Linville Creek area continue on after that time."

I believe that I am a descendent of this Peter (Peter m Dorothy Showalter - Charles Sumner Bryan - William Vernon Bryan - Edwin Bryan - Me!). I've never found how/when he got to Decatur Co., IN. Do you have resources that you could suggest to me? I don't have anything on Peter's father Ezekiel/Ezekial or other ancestors, either.
