Richard 1716 Essex Co. VA

Have not seen the actual documents, but others have said there is a Court proceeding in Essex Co. VA in 1736, in connection with litigation in the matter of the Estate of Richard Brutnall (Bruathall?) who evidently died in 1716 and a John Merritt Sr. was given power of attorney in 1736, to act for some of the heirs, namely a James Wellmore (Willmore?) and two Brutnall daughters (?) Was there a Brutnall lady that was married (by 1736) to a James Wellmore (Willmore?) in that area of Virginia ? I have a James Willmore, born 1803 in King and Queen Co. VA. He also lived for a number of years in Essex Co. VA. I am wondering if he could descend from this James Wellmore (Willmore ?) in Essex Co. in 1736. Anyone out there have any clues ? Thank you.
