I was born in Gross-Chmeleschen, Bohemia, now the Czech Republic. I have my direct ancestors back to the 1600. The families on the farms used to be very large and only one was able to take over the farm. The others had to migrate to cities or even emmigrated to other countries. After WWII we were exspelled from our homeland and my family lived in Karlsruhe, Baden, where I grew up. Here are my ancestors. . Our family lived in Gross-Chmeleschen prior to 1664, however our village was burned during the 30 year war and all documents were destroyed, since they had been kept at the village church. After the fire the records were kept in the state archives in Prag. Brunner Matthias b 1664, took over the estate at Gross-Chmeleschen Nr 21 according to the states archives in Prag on 6 May 1685.
