Brunner

First of all - my apologies to all of those who posted messages for me that I have not answered. I have not been active since before the holidays - due partially to them and the fact that I am just not recovering for cataract surgery.

Our branch of the Brunner family came from Switzerland and carried the name of Zumbrunnen. They came from the area of Zweisimmen. My grandparents came to America in the 1800's. They met over here and were married. They carried the Zumbrunnen name all their lives. There were 8 children in the family - 4 boys and 4 girls all born in the US. The boys all changed their name to Brunner but the girls kept the original name until their marriages. My grandparents were Johannes and Magdelena (Gempler) Zumbrunnen. They lived primariily in Eastern Ohio and Western PA until the older children were grown then migrated to Los Angeles area. My father was the oldest of the family and remained in Ohio where he raised his family. If any of this sounds familiar to any of you and you would contact me directly, I would be glad to continue expoloring this family line with you.

Ruth (Brunner) Schlemmer
