I have just recently started researching the Bruners. My info says "Andy and John Bruner, 2 of a family of twelve children landed from Germany and located in or near Louisville, Ky. in 1784. Their brother Jake's daughter and her 2 children were killed by Indians and were with John Bruner's wife when she was taken prisoner. John's wife was held prisoner several years. John's child was Adam Bruner m. Lucinda Meeks and children were Emmaline b. 10/03/1843 d. 2/20/1881 and Thomas." Emmaline married my great grandfather David Huff 5/2/1860 in Decatur, Ill. They looked Indian for Lucinda's mother was full-blood of the tribe of Indians that was driven from Kentucky to Arkansas. Their chief was Wapelo and was married to Lucinda's mother's sister. I was recently in Louisville and saw that Jeffersontown was built on the farm of Abraham Bruner and was first called Brunerstown. I did not have time to research further and am wondering if you know anything about this family. I am thinking that Abraham could be brother of John or either the father.
