Detta is in western Romania, in an area once known as the Banat when it was still part of the Austrian-Hungarian Empire. You can find Deta/Detta on Google Maps. Here's my Dad's story at the link cited below - help you understand how and why my ancestors got to that part of the world. With Parkinson's, even at 55 years of age, I'm beginning to feel strangely close to them. Good luck on your search! I'll share any further relevant info that I happen across with you.
