John Brunet or Brunette ancestors

I am desperately trying to identify the ancestors of John Brunet or Brunette John was born in1879 in Canada, we think in Pembroke. He died in 1943 in Alpena Mich. He was married to Marie Leah LaCroix. We think his father's name was Joseph and mother Mary Cartier, but not sure. Does anyone know of these people?
