WILLIAM G. BRUNER was born in Dubuque County, Iowa, December l3, l866, and died at his home near Leon, Iowa, July 22, l9l9, being at the time of his death 52 years, 7 months and 9 days old. He came to Decatur County with his parents when a baby where he has spent his whole life. He was united in marriage to CARRIE A. MARTIN, December 3lst, l890. To this union were born four children, two sons and two daughters, who are left with the wife to mourn the loss of a kind and loving husband and father. The children are MRS. DELLA YOUNG, MRS. ROSA COX, both of Decatur County; REEDUS W. and ROLLA, both at home. He also leaves two grandsons, five sisters and three brothers; MRS. JOHN PRIEST of Arispie, Iowa; MRS. C.F. TENNEY, of Bethany, Mo.; MRS. OWEN BIDDY and A.B. BRUNER, of Redlands, Colo.; F.F. BRUNER, of Wheatland, Wyo.; MRS. DAN MYERS, MRS. W.J. STOUT and P.E. BRUNER, of Decatur, Iowa.
He united with the Methodist Church at the age of 25 years and he lived an upright, Christian life to the end and bore his suffering with a true Christian Spirit, always remembering the comfort of his wife, who ministered so faithfully to all his wants through his long illness. Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church in Decatur City, Friday, July 25th. It was conducted by Rev. E.C. Vanderpool. Interment was in Decatur City Cemetery.
