Hi Tracey,
Thx for the suggestion. While the Canadian Archives & Library URL did not yield any information (so far) on Abraham Brown, I did find records for the Papillons/Flaggs. Abraham's wife was Elizabeth Papillon dit Flagg. There are family legends that go along with the "dit" name.
I have done a DNA search as well. There are others (from Quebec) who match my sample, but none of the surnames are Brown. I continue to believe that the surname Brown may have been either an angeliztion of Lebrun or an adopted/dit name.
