Lawrence Roy Brumley, Jr., 85, of Hot Springs
On April 13, 2013, Lawrence Roy Brumley, Jr., 85, went home to be with the Lord.He was affectionately known as Larry or L.R. to friends and family.He was born in Tulare, California on September 21, 1927 to Lawrence R. Brumley, Sr. and Lottie May Hutchison Brumley.
He was predeceased by his parents; his son Roger Brumley, and brother, Dan Brumley.Lawrence Brumley 2
He is survived by his wife of sixty-five years, Florence Rodgers Brumley, two daughters, Dianne (Jack) Bates and Becky (Joel) Burrough; two sons, Michael Brumley and Craig (Maria) Brumley all of Hot Springs; eleven grandchildren; eightgreat-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.He is also survived by two sisters, Mary Cupit of Liberty, Mississippi and Irma Carrera of Hot Springs, Arkansas; a brother Frank Brumley of Crossett, Arkansas and a host of loving family and friends.
Larry was a member of First Pentecostal Church.He was a masonry contractor who was very talented working with stone, concrete and plaster.
At sixteen, Larry joined the Marine Corp, Sixth Division, known as the “Striking Sixth” and fought in the South Pacific at Okinawa Shima, and Guadalcanal.He was an honored Marksman. After WWII he was stationed in Tsingtao, China as a message center man.

Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home. Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at New Life Church on Pakis Road with Rev. James Turner and Rev. B. F. Glidewell officiating.Burial will follow at Crestview Cemetery.
