According to a posting in the Oaks GenForum, Mary Napier (b c 1813), daughter of Patrick Napier and Fanny Brumfield, married James Oaks c 1827/28 in Lee Co, VA or Harlan Co, KY. They lived in Harlan Co until the 1840's, then moved to Breathitt Co, KY. Can anyone confirm this, and do you know the names of their children? I am trying to find out if they are the parents of a George W. Oaks (listed in the on-line index to the 1850 census of Cedar Co, MO, which is where my grandfather was born).
My father said the family came from Harlan Co, KY, which would make the relationship fairly probable.
