The information I have, and I am not sure where I got it, is that Susannah Brumfield was the daughter of Watson Brumfield. My hand written note indicates that Watson may have been married to a Margritt ?. Her brother, Charles Brumfield, is my g-g-g-g grandfather, born 1745, in VA, died 1826 in York District, SC. Charles was married to Lucy ?, whose son, John Brumfield, married Margaret Kelly in Wake County, NC. So Susannah, and probably other family members, were in VA and NC in the time period you mention. A note I have made on material I have indicates that Charles, apparent brother of Susannah, was born in Prince Edward County, VA, in 1745. A further note indicates that Susannah may have been born in 1743 or 1720...not sure why the great difference in the birthdates I have written.
Information I have written, sorry I did not write down the source but it was probably from family research my deceased aunt, Anna Opal Brumfield Peyton, shows there were several children born to Watson Brumfield and ? Margritt?: Susannah, Watson, Jr., Exekiel, Richard, mabye John, Jesse, and Ruben, and of course, Charles. Watson, according to the information I have, moved from Prince Edward County, VA, in 1754, and received land from the Earl of Granville in Orange County, NC by 1759.
The best source of information on the Charles and Lucy ? Brumfield, and from them the John and Margaret Kelly Brumfield line, is Al Brumfield. My understanding is that he is planning to produce an update on a paperback by Nell Clawson, Fields of Broom. The John Brumfield and Margaret Kelly line was not included in that publication.
If you have additional information, different information,I would like to hear more from you.
