Marriage record shows Mahala m. Samuel 20 Dec 1837 in Lawrence Co Ky. As she was born between 1820-1825 seems unlikely she was prev married - John & Samuel would appear to be the same person. Her mother is Elizabeth Rice, d/o Elijah Rice who m. James Brumfield 9 Nov 1818 in Greenup Co Ky. Your inquiry also appears to confirm that the Elijah Brumfield in Wabash Co Il in 1850 is her brother.
