The John Brumfield that was the son of Humphrey and the father of Burrell (who married Margaret Massie) was married to Mary
Sowards (1) and to Martha Entsminger (2) The
marriage to Martha is Vol 1, pg 2 Gallia Co,
Ohio marriage records 2-14-1804. It is
erroneously recorded as "John Brownfield".
The Entsmingers, Brumfields, etc. all go back to VA and they fought at Point Pleasant together in Rev. War.
I am descended from Burrell's brother James who married Leanah Haskins. I have Massies,
Brumfields, Daltons, Sartains, Sowards, etc but you only think they are tough until you get lines like the Evans-VanMeters out of VA
and WVA. Good hunting, Phil
P.S. You should have lived in the good "ole days" when they still had Brumfield reunions!!!
