I think this photo was taken in Idaho, when Rutha was very old. My mother's grandmother was the same age as my father's mother - they knew each other all their lives growing up together in Texas and ending their lives in California. All of them were poor, but the Parkers had nothing. When they moved to Idaho, they moved in with Hurst relatives, dad remembered living in an old covered wagon until it burned down in the middle of the night. All of a sudden his father threw him and he was flying through the air, landing in the snow!
According to the death certificate, James Parker was born 7 Aug 1835, died 28 Feb 1915. Age 79 yrs 6 mo 11 days, in Ardmore Oklahoma. Length of Residence, 3 yrs 2 mos 17 days, and was listed as Widowed. Rutha died in 1914 in Idaho so technically he was a widower, I don't know if they ever divorced but they hadn't lived together for a while.
