William Harrison Broyles bn 7 July 1862 Whitley KY
Married abt 1883 to whom I beleive was Margaret (Marget) Murray dau of William R and Nancy "Bolton" Murray in Campbell Co TN.
William Harrison Broyles died 23 August 1911 at the age of 47 in Campbell Co TN. Margaret born abt 1861 died before 1900. William and wife had 5 children:
Oliver "Perry" born Sept 1884
Thomas born Aug 1887
Garrett born July 1889
Rutie born Feb 1893
Estel born ?July? 1895
On the 1900 Campbell Co Civil Dist #9 Census, I found
William listed as a Widower and with him are Garrett, Rutie, and Estel.
I found Perry and Thomas listed with Nancy Murray as grand sons along with Mary J Morris (Nancy's dau and Margaret sister. The record shows that James A, Oliver P, and William are known as "Morris", however these are Nancy's sons also and should be "Murray".
I have traced Oliver "Perry" Broyles family from Tenn to Penn then Ohio but THOMAS is the one I am really interested in. My great grandfather was known as Thomas Norris Morris born 11 August 1887 died 28 Sept 1958 in Campbell Co TN. Story has it that Thomas's father came to TN from MI and died when Thomas was very young. Thomas Broyles does not appear on census records other that 1900. Could Thomas been a Broyles adopted by Mary? (She did not have any more children and later married John Guy in TN) Can anyone confirm William's wife or have any info that can help me figure this one out?
