The information of the descendants of the Margaret (Broyles) MASSINGILL family was obtained chiefly from George MASSINGILL of Jefferson City, TN, Rt 4 on the 20 August 1928. (Most or all of the MASSINGILL now living in Jefferson County are descendants of Eliza MASSINGILL, daughter of Margaret "Peggy" MASSINGILL.) ...
Mrs Lew Baker gave the following information that George MASSINGILL, who moved to Texas, was her uncle & brother of her father William....
In addition to the brothers George & William, there were three sisters- Mary, Julia & Jane. Mary never married; died in about 1927 at Jefferson City. Julia married Henry HAZELWOOD & lives near White Pine, Tennessee. (Jane married William Humphrey STURMAN son of Hannah EDWARDS & Thomas K. STURMAN, 23 Sept 1853, at Dandridge, Jefferson, TN., after she married they moved near Brownbranch, Taney Co, MO).
