Daniel,

I have Monroe Brownson b. ca 1854 in my records. I believe his father to be Chester (1844- 1897) and his grandparents Samuel (ca 1793-1856) and Rebecca Griswald Brownson. I have a number of sources including records in the Essex Co. New York Hist. Society in my files. (I live in Essex county.)

I have been unable to connect Samuel who was b. in Connecticut to the many Brownson families in both Connecticut and Vermont but believe there must be a relationship.

I would be glad to share other information about the Samuel Brownson family that I have. I am interested in what you have about Monroe. All I have is the 1870 census reference.

Paul Reese
