I have recently transcribed the journal or I. K. Brownson, born July 1, 1810 Peterboro, NY, died Jan 28, 1899, Fayetteville, NY. a Baptist minister and distant relative of mine.
I.K. served the church in New Woodstockm, Madison, Co., NY for some time.
Most of the journal is dull and the religious piety says nothing to me. However, I am intrigued by the possible references to his position on abolition and to hints of his personal struggle with his faith. His attitude about "Yorkers" is amusing.
Some of the dates and references may be of interest to genealogist and historians.
