14. Joseph Brownmiller was born on Oct 23 1807. He died on Apr 7 1895 in Hamlin, Lebanon Co., PA. JOSEPH BROWNMILLER, son of Frederick and Barbara (Nolf), was born October 23, 1807, at Hokendauqua, Lehigh County, Pa., and was educated in the common schools and in his youth learned the shoemaker's trade. He was organist and chorister at Klopp's Church, Lebanon County, Pa., for more than forty years. He died April 7, 1895, aged 87 years, 5 months, and 14 days. He married Hannah Stein, of Greenwich, Berks County, who died May 1, 1877, aged 64 years, 6 months, and 26 days. They had ten children: Helena; Maria, married to Gideon Bots; Esther, married to Eli Wolever; Amelia, married to Samuel F. Steiner; Joel; Susanna, married to Jonathan Miller; Amanda, married to Isaac K. Wolf; Emma, married to John H. Kreiser; Ephraim S.; and Thomas Daniel. The family were Lutherans in religious belief.

He was married to Hannah Stein. Hannah Stein was born on Oct 6 1812. She died on May 1 1877. Joseph Brownmiller and Hannah Stein had the following children:

       +59       ix.       Rev. Dr. Ephriam S. Brownmiller.
       60       x.       Thomas Daniel Brownmiller.
