James Minton (I have Milton) Brownlow was also my great-great-grandfather.
Here is the information I have on him:
He married Jane (Eliza) W. Dunnavant. Jane (parent Mary Mitchell) was born in 1824 in Mecklen County, VA.
Parents of James M. Brownlow are William Brownlow and Elizabeth Cook. I have that he was born in 1823 in Giles, TN. He died about 1900 in Giles, TN.
He had the following children:
Edward Isaac "Bud" Brownlow was born 27 Dec 1853 in Giles, TN. He died 28 Oct 1929 in Eldorado, OK. (He had 24 children through 2 wives.) His second wife, Elizabeth Elvira Skipper, was my great-grandmother.
Elizabeth C. Brownlow was born about 1844 in Giles, TN. She died 1923 near Victoria, TX.
Sarah Sally Jane Brownlow (your great-grandmother), was born about 1850 in Giles, TN. She died Nov. 4, 1905.
Mary Jane (Molly) Brownlow was born 7 Mar 1846 in Giles, TN. She died 2 Mar 1863 in Giles, TN.
Martha J. Brownlow was born Apr 1860 in Giles, TN.
I don't know if you are still working on this information or not. If so, I have an extensive family tree that I could send you an invitation to look at. Thanks and let me know if you think this info is correct.
