Linda - there are lots of females in the Brownlow family/families from way back starting in Northern Ireland, England and then to the America's in Virginia, the Carolina's and Tennessee and then out west to Texas, etc. Of course, since the ladies married off, the Brownlow name remained with the male heirs and (I might be wrong)I find that there are not that many males carrying the Brownlow name. When I went to Dublin, Ireland on a vacation - way back in 1988 - there were only two (2) names in the phonebook and there were at one time, many, many Brownlow's in Ireland. I am also related by a female. My great great grandfather was John M. Brownlow and I am related to him by his daughter Sara Jane Brownlow who married my great grandfather Phleps Smith. Sara and Phelps moved from TN to Northeast TX. Bonnie Smith Flach
