Okay, I have looked at your site and checked my records. I accept that my James is son of William and Janie Brownlow. Now, where does James, the son of John and Sarah Council Brownlow, fit? I am trying to get my records straight. See if I have it correct.
James Brownlow, b. 1695-1700 Ireland had these children:
1. John b. abt 1724 Ireland, md Sarah Council and Rebecca Evans, lived in Cumberland Co. NC. Had James and Mary (wife of Samuel Purviance)
2. William b. 1727, Ireland, md. Janie. Lived Chatham Co. NC. Had (1)John who went to Pendleton Dist. SC; (2)James who d. in Giles Co. TN; (3)Jane; (4)Mary who md. Ambrose Petty; and (5)Sarah who md. Willis Dillard. (John is your line and James is mine, right?)
3. Elizabeth, b. bef 1740
4. Jane b. bef 1740, md. William Ward and James Patterson
5. James b. bef 1740. (this James just sort of hangs out there, do we know anything else about him?)
Please correct where needed. I really appreciate the work that many people have done recently to straighten out the Brownlow line. How are we doing on the parents of James, b. 1695? I could have gone to your e-mail address but I think that the corrections need to be done on the Forum so all can get records corrected. Your cousin, Ruth
