Couple of warnings about the Browning family -- first, Maryland developed counties over time. Garrett County was formed in 1872, so nobody could be born in Garrett County before 1872. They could have been born in the part of Allegany County that became Garrett County.

Damascus was in Frederick County until Montgomery County was formed in 1776. After that, Damascus has been in Montgomery County; Damascus is about 30 miles west of DC, while Garrett County is over a hundred miles west of DC.

The bigger problem in these early generations is that there were Browning families in Cecil County, Maryland, Prince Georges County, Maryland, and Culpeper County, Virginia, and many genealogies get them all mixed up. They haven't yet been satisfactorily sorted out by anyone, that I know of!
